Author Suzanne Cook
I’ve been writing since a young child, always with the goal of writing novels. However, my adult life took so many junctions and turns, I was never able to put my aspirations to work until recently.
Currently I have two books out seeking representation and publication:
Six Kids, Four Months and One Camper – Memoir
—– When life in our suburban housing complex takes a shocking turn, the goal of moving into a house in the country seems easy enough — until a tempting deal on a massive chunk of land and the quick sale of our house leave us trying to survive the dead of winter in a camper with no water or electricity . . . and six screaming kids!
Soldier’s Child – Picture Book
—— Written with the focus of helping military families. Told in metered rhyme, the story Soldier’s Child gently draws the reader into the mind of a young girl. Her military father is deployed, and she keeps asking her Mom why he’s gone for so long. Despite her mother’s patient attempts to explain “why”, the little girl is too absorbed by her own sadness and anger — until a unique event re-shapes her view of his absence.
